LeARn4Assembly
Increasingly individualised production, small batch sizes and current demographic developments favour the use of IT assistance systems for the execution of assembly tasks. Existing assistance solutions provide the worker in the work situation with information on how to process the current work step. This form of assistance aims at a fast empowerment for complex activities, but hardly enables learning processes, as assistance is usually instructive and not very adaptive.
The aim of the LeARn4Assembly project is to develop learning and assistance solutions based on VR and AR technologies and to design them in a didactic way that allows learning processes adapted to the personal and operational situation. In doing so, account shall be taken of the characteristics of the work to be carried out, as well as of the individual conditions and objectives of the worker. As a result, recommendations are made for the didactic, methodological, educational and technological design of learning and support systems for assembly. These are derived from the evaluation results of the prototyped and tested development scenarios and make it possible, on the basis of concrete experience, to select the technology and implement specific teaching principles.
